Mother's Day Brunch Sunday 11AM & 1PM
It’s time again to celebrate one of Dallas’ most time-honored Springtime events. Join us as we celebrate The 47th Annual Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour. Happening this year, just as it does every year, on Mother's Day weekend, Saturday, and Sunday, May 9th and 10th.
This weekend-long tribute to Dallas' historic past will feature four of the city's most fabulous Early 20th Century homes and, on Saturday only, an historic Ionic Greek sanctuary built by noted architect, C.D. Hill. There will be an open-air art fair, a vintage auto display, a children’s play area with a kid-size railroad, live entertainment on the Avenue, free horse-drawn carriage rides, complimentary air-conditioned mini-coaches, freshly prepared food, ice-cold beverages, and much more. Including, new this year, a Jazz Concert on Saturday night, and a Gourmet Cooking Class on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon presented by renowned Dallas chef, Kent Rathbun followed by private wine tastings hosted in three of Swiss Avenue's most legendary homes: The Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Rufus Higginbotham House, The Bishop Lynch House, and the palatial Prairie Style mansion once owned by early Dallas pioneer and philanthropist, W.W. Caruth.

About The 2020 Home Tour
The homes on tour this year are exquisite examples of the Early 20th Century's most popular architectural styles. Featured will be an elegant Italian Renaissance masterpiece with Colonial flourishes designed by famed architect Hal Thomson; an Eclectic Tudor Revival; and two very diverse examples of the Progressive Style Mode that was all the rage at the turn of the 20th Century. Also included is a tour of the impressive sanctuary at East Dallas Christian Church, one of the city's earliest churches, designed by CD Hill in 1924.
Guests can travel between all tour stops on air-conditioned mini coaches staffed by neighborhood tour guides who’ll share interesting facts, stories and details about The District. Those interested in a more-vintage mode of transportation can amble down the avenue in horse-drawn carriages. Both the mini-coaches and carriages are provided at no charge, with our compliments.
When it’s time for a break, relax and refresh in Savage Park with freshly prepared food and beverages served all throughout the weekend by INVASION and Gallo Nero Italian Bistro.
Beverage service will include soft drinks, beer, wine, and Gallo Nero's popular Bourbon Smash!
For those craving a sweet treat, Kona Ice and Steel City Pops will be serving refreshing shaved-ice snow cones and gourmet popsicles. Food trucks from Easy Slider, Ruthie's Rolling Cafe, and Yummy Pizza will be in the park serving up sliders, grilled sandwiches, and pizza.
On the main stage in Savage Park, there will be live entertainment throughout the weekend, performed by area talent. Along the median in front of the park, guests can browse the displays of local artisans who will be showcasing their wares, everything from artwork and custom candles to handmade jewelry, pottery, and handicrafts.
