Mother's Day Lunch Sunday 11AM to 2PM

It’s one of Dallas’ most time-honored Springtime events. Come join us as we celebrate The 46th Annual Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour. Happening this year, just as it does every year, on Mother's Day weekend, Saturday, and Sunday, May 11th and 12th.

This weekend-long tribute to Dallas' historic past will feature five of the city's most fabulous Early 20th Century homes and, on Saturday only, an historic Gothic sanctuary built by noted architect, C.D. Hill. There will also be an open-air art fair, a vintage auto display, a children’s play area with a kid-size railroad, live entertainment on the Avenue, free horse-drawn carriage rides, complimentary

air-conditioned mini-coaches, freshly prepared food, ice-cold beverages, and much more.

Tickets are on sale for the 2019 Home Tour now. You can purchase your tickets here on this page using our PayPal "Buy Now" Button (below), or at any of these local area retailers: Talulah & HESS at Skillman-Live Oak Shopping Center and; Tom Thumb Stores at Mockingbird & Abrams, Gaston Avenue near Grand, Villanova Drive in Preston Center, Snyder Plaza, Oak Lawn Avenue, East Lovers Lane at Matilda, and their newest location in Uptown.

About The 2019 Home Tour

The homes on tour this year represent a diverse variety of the Early 20th Century's most popular architectural styles. Featured will be: a romantic Spanish Revival; an Italianate Mediterranean Villa; a pristine Mission Revival; a Prairie Foursquare with unique Georgian influences, and; a Progressive Style Prairie Foursquare.

Guests can travel between all tour stops on air-conditioned mini coaches staffed by neighborhood tour guides who’ll share interesting facts, stories and details about The District. Those interested in a more-vintage mode of transportation can amble down the avenue in horse-drawn carriages. Both the mini-coaches and carriages are provided at no charge, with our compliments.

When it’s time for a break, relax and refresh in Savage Park with freshly prepared food and beverages served all throughout the weekend by Gallo Nero Italian Bistro.

Beverage service will include soft drinks, beer, wine, and Gallo Nero's popular Bourbon Smash!

For those craving a sweet treat, Kona Ice and Steel City Pops will be serving refreshing shaved-ice snow cones and gourmet popsicles. Starting at Noon on Sunday, food trucks from Easy Slider and Ruthie's Rolling Cafe will be in the park serving up sliders and grilled sandwiches.

On the main stage in Savage Park, there will be live entertainment throughout the weekend, performed by area talent. Along the median in front of the park, guests can browse the displays of local artisans who will be showcasing their wares, everything from artwork and custom candles to handmade jewelry, pottery, and handicrafts.

Overflow parking is available on Saturday ONLY in the parking lot at Munger Place Church.

Munger Place Church is located at the intersections of Munger Boulevard, Live Oak, and Bryan Streets. From there, just walk one scenic block along Bryan Street to reach the tour epicenter at Savage Park. Home tour mini busses will not be shuttling to and from the church on Saturday. Parking at the church is not available during tour hours on Sunday, due to ongoing church services. All cars of tour guests that are parked in the church lot on Saturday, must be moved from the lot before 7AM on Sunday to provide space for Sunday worshippers to park.
