About The 2023 Home Tour
The homes on tour this year represent exquisite examples of some of the Early 20th Century's most popular architectural styles. Included in this year's collection will be an elegant Mediterranean Villa; an extraordinary Jacobethan Revival Manor House; an Italian Renaissance confection with Colonial touches; a pristine French Eclectic masterpiece with Beaux Arts elements; a substantial Progressive Mode abode with classic Tudor influences; and a modern take on classic Craftsman Design reimagined and reinterpreted for 21st Century life.
Guests can travel between all tour stops on air-conditioned mini-coaches staffed by neighborhood tour guides who’ll share interesting facts and details about The District. Those interested in a more-vintage mode of transportation can amble down the avenue in horse-drawn carriages. Both the coaches and carriages are provided with our compliments, at no charge.
When it’s time for a break, relax and refresh in Savage Park with freshly prepared food and beverages served all throughout the weekend from Hamburger Man and an assortment of festive Food Trucks offering a variety of menus, including Cousins Maine Lobster, Ruthie's Rolling Cafe, and Kona Ice. Beverage service will include soft drinks, hard cider, beer, and wine.
On the main stage in Savage Park, there will be live entertainment throughout the weekend, performed by area talent. Along the median in front of the park, guests can browse the displays of local artisans who will be showcasing their wares, everything from artwork and custom candles to handmade jewelry, pottery, and handicrafts.

Aldredge House
Every Half Hour
Saturday: 12:30PM – 6:00PM
Sunday: 11:00AM – 4:30PM
The Historic Aldredge House, our city's first designated Historic House Museum, sits at the epicenter of the Swiss Avenue Historic District. It remains unchanged, inside and out, from the time it was originally built in 1917. And this year, in conjunction with our Annual Home Tour, the Aldredge House will conduct special Guided History Tours inside the house every half hour.
Guests will learn about the history of the house, its first owners, and the role it played in establishing Swiss Avenue as the city's first Historic District. Tours will be conducted in groups of 30, every 30 minutes, on a first-come-first-serve basis. Admission is FREE.

Portraits, A Garden & A Sculpture
While waiting to enter, guests can have their photos taken wearing vintage hats and accessories on the front terrace. Guests are also invited to tour the Rose Garden in the rear yard where a commemorative statue is installed in tribute to Virginia Savage McAlester, a world-renowned architectural historian and one of the founders of the Swiss Avenue Historic District, Preservation Dallas, and Friends of Fair Park.

Our Mother’s Day Brunch
Will Be Ala Carte In The Park

For the first time in the history of the Home Tour, last year's Mother's Day Brunch was held as an ala carte event. And we're continuing that trend for 2023. Instead of limiting guests to one prix-fixe menu provided by a single food vendor, guests can choose from a wide variety of ala carte menu selections provided by an assortment of providers. Pricing is also ala carte so you can brunch as little or as much as you'd like. And there are no advance reservations required. Just come and enjoy whenever and however you please, starting at 11AM on Sunday.
