Mother's Day
home tour

Saturday, May 9th, – 10AM to 6PM
Sunday, May 10th – Noon to 6PM

This year marks the 51st Year of the Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother's Day Home Tour. The homes on tour this year represent exquisite examples of some of the Early 20th Century's most popular architectural styles. Included in this year's collection are:

• an impressive English Country Manor House;

• a pristine Mission Revival Style Hacienda;

• a magnificent Georgian Revival designed by Hal Thomson;

• a classic Prairie School masterpiece in the Mission Revival Style;

• a charming pre-World War II Traditional Colonial Revival;

• a storybook Tudor Revival Bungalow;

• and the English Gothic sanctuary at Munger Place Church.

Guests can travel between all tour stops on air-conditioned mini-coaches that will drop off and pick up in front of each of the tour houses as well as at Savage Park. Those interested in a more-vintage mode of transportation can amble down the avenue in horse-drawn carriages. Both the coaches and carriages are provided with our compliments, at no charge.

New this year for guests who enjoy traveling between the tour homes on foot will be a Walking Tour. Placards will be placed in the yards in front of a select number of homes along the street that provide details on their design, history, and former owners, many of whom were noted Dallas business and civic leaders.

When it’s time for a break, relax and refresh in Savage Park with freshly prepared food and beverages served throughout the weekend. On the main stage in Savage Park, there will be live entertainment performed by area talent. Along the median in front of the park, guests can browse the displays of local artisans who will be showcasing their wares, everything from artwork and custom candles to handmade jewelry, pottery, and handicrafts.

BEGINNING APRIL 1ST, TICKETS AVAILABLE AT:

Overflow parking is available at Munger Place Church

from 10AM to 6PM on Saturday and from 1PM to 6PM on Sunday

Munger Place Church is located at the intersections of Munger Boulevard, Live Oak, and Bryan Streets. From there, just walk one scenic block along Bryan Street to reach the tour epicenter at Savage Park. Home tour mini busses will not be shuttling guests to or from the church. Parking at the church is not available prior to 1PM on Sunday, due to ongoing church services. All cars of tour guests that are parked in the church lot on Saturday, must be moved from the lot before 7AM on Sunday to provide space for Sunday worshippers to park.
