After a 2-year hiatus due to the emergence of Covid, it is finally time again to celebrate one of the city's most anticipated Springtime events, the 47th Annual Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour. Happening on Mother's Day weekend, Saturday, and Sunday, May 7th and 8th.
This weekend-long tribute to Dallas' historic past will feature six of the city's most fabulous Early 20th Century homes and one exquisite garden. There will be an open-air art fair, a vintage auto display, a children’s play area, live entertainment in Savage Park, free horse-drawn carriage rides, complimentary air-conditioned mini-coaches, and food trucks offering a variety of freshly prepared menu items, ice-cold beverages, and much more.

About The 2022 Home Tour
The homes on tour this year represent exquisite examples of some of the Early 20th Century's most popular architectural styles. Featured will be an impressive American Prairie Style Foursquare, a stately Georgian Revival, a classic brick Craftsman with Beaux Arts details, a charming Tudor Revival, and a pair of "sister houses" designed in the Arts & Crafts Progressive Mode but each with its own distinct style and character. Also included is an open-air tour of the sprawling garden space at the former home of Bishop Lynch.
Guests can travel between all tour stops on air-conditioned mini-coaches staffed by neighborhood tour guides who’ll share interesting facts and details about The District. Those interested in a more-vintage mode of transportation can amble down the avenue in horse-drawn carriages. Both the coaches and carriages are provided with our compliments, at no charge.
When it’s time for a break, relax and refresh in Savage Park with freshly prepared food and beverages served all throughout the weekend by Garden Cafe and an assortment of festive Food Trucks offering a variety of menus, including Ruthie's Rolling Cafe and Kona Ice. Beverage service will include soft drinks, beer, and wine.
On the main stage in Savage Park, there will be live entertainment throughout the weekend, performed by area talent. Along the median in front of the park, guests can browse the displays of local artisans who will be showcasing their wares, everything from artwork and custom candles to handmade jewelry, pottery, and handicrafts.

Our Mother’s Day Brunch
Will Be Ala Carte In The Park

For the first time in the history of the Home Tour, our Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday will be an ala carte event. Just come and enjoy whenever and however you please, starting at 11AM on Sunday.
Refreshments At Savage Park
We're thrilled to announce that Garden Cafe, one of our neighborhood's most cherished restaurants, specializing in fresh, healthy and delicious local fare, will be In Savage Park all weekend serving up a delicious assortment of ala carte delicacies for the enjoyment of our guests.
